HIGH QUALITY FRAC PLUNGERS
Ceramic Plungers Standard’s ceramic plunger is made from the highest purity Aluminum Oxide. This extremely dense, hard ceramic is diamond ground and honed to a smooth finish which allows for extended packing life. The stainless steel adapter is securely bonded to the ceramic then machined. Standard’s ceramic plunger is highly resistant to acids, saltwater and sand. It is recommended for most general service applications.
Hard-Co and Tungsten Plungers – These plungers are manufactured using a steel or stainless steel base material and then thermal coated with a nickel based powder. These coatings are extremely hard and wear resistant. They perform well in corrosive environments. They are used in general service and specialty applications where ceramic can’t be used.
Chrome Oxide Plungers – These plungers are preferred when pumping products used to treat natural gas such as amine. This plunger coating is also good for other chemicals because of the corrosion and chemical resistance. The coating is applied by a special “high speed” spray process that provides an optimal bond of the coating to a base material.
Extension Rods – Standard manufactures a complete line of extension rods for all major brands of pumps. These rods are available in heat treated 17-4 or a Hard-Co coating. For special applications they can be supplied with a Tungsten Carbide or Chrome Oxide coating.
